The film is true to the spirit of the age in which it's set. The main downside is that it's extremely violent, maybe unrealistically so even for the time. Obviously this is not a family film (unless watched by an adult father and son?) or a film to take a first date on (unless she's unfathomably based). I can't detect any hidden political agendas behind this film. There is basically nothing modern about it. Maybe it was greenlit to portray white people as bizarre savages, as more and more horror movies are doing, but this film is too beautifully-shot to work as that kind of propaganda. It's really an ethereal experience. For a film made in 2022, 5/5.
