Jour de Fête, 1949 - ★★★½

Tati’s gags are all kinds of clever (I laughed out loud when the woman churchgoer mindlessly grabs the church bell rope, getting yanked up and out of the frame), and the sense of community that comes with watching the villagers prep for and enjoy the fair is sweet. And if you don’t like the precious old woman wandering around with a goat on a leash as she narrates this and that, see a doctor because you have no heart.
