Breakout, 1975 - ★★★

Not great, exactly, but an amusing curiosity, one that apes some of Peckinpah's tics and apes some of the paranoid thrillers from the time's tics and has just a weirdly great cast for such a weirdly scattershot script: Charles Bronson and Robert Duvall and John Huston and the one and only Randy Quaid.

Such a weird tonal mix in this movie, veering wildly from hard-bitten, cynical violence to almost goofy comic bits (the aforementioned Randy Quaid tries to infiltrate a Mexican jail dressed as a Mexican hooker, por ejemplo).
