The reason I say don't pay to watch it is because it's Steven Spielberg and the rumors are that he is a pedo freak. Speaking of which, Corey Feldman is such a great actor and it breaks my heart to think about how f**ked up in the head he is from the child abuse. Puts a damper on watching the film. But then again, he did try to scam people out of money to expose the pedo ring. So just try to put it out of your mind for 2 hours.

The reason I gave it 2 Neo Marxism ratings is because they have a typical evil rich capitalist bad guy who is trying to foreclose on the parents' homes to build a golf course. So, anti-capitalist. But not a big deal because it's just a clichรฉ and not that in your face. More of a nostalgic thing because of the 80's yuppie bad guys trope.

Lastly, I gave it one rating for affirmative action because of Data. He fits the cast because it's about underdogs/outsiders. But that's how Hollywood gradually slipped in these pro immigration type themes until we have the crap we have now.

Still, a loveable character and not PC at all because he has a funny accent and is a stereotype.

Fun fact, the main kid grew up to be Sam from Lord of the Rings. I had no idea.

Watch this film with your kids and just don't tell 'em about Corey Feldman... real feel good movie with a cheesy 80's over the top happy ending.
