I had never seen this "classic" but finally got around to it. Didn't live up to the hype. Also, I remember liking Rodney Dangerfield, but now that I'm woke on the JQ he was just irritating. An obnoxious k*ke throwing money around to subvert a nice community run by WASPs. There was no real message or plot, just random (chuckle level at max) jokes and obscenity. Lots of promiscuity and no character development with no real plot other than "sticking it to the man." The main reason I wanted to see it was because of Bill Murray, and frankly, his role in this didn't use his full potential. We've all grown to love his dry humor and snark the most. Being the simpleton could have been done by anybody.

Best scene was the interaction between Chevy Chase and Bill Murray which you can see without watching the whole movie here:

The anti-god ratings are because of a joke about a priest who loses his faith when he's struck by lightning. Don't think it's an agenda thing. It was pretty funny I guess.

If you're at someone's house and it's on, watch it and you'll be entertained. But don't go out of your way to see it.
