The birth of reality tv should be something to deride and hate. However depsite it's lasting legacy "The Truman Show" is an absolute triumph of a film. Commentary on the nature of art, humanity, what is real and not, all in an unpretentious fascinating package. It may be Jim Carrey's best performance and the set design, costuming, tone all perfectly match the films tone and ambition. Go watch it already! I wouldn't pay though since I doubt any of the writers will get a dime for your paying to stream it. Perhaps a DVD pickup for a good deal though.
