Watching Fate Apocrypha will make you feel like the death row inmate from dead man walking. The entire premise does not make sense, the worldbuilding has no grounding. The worst part of this anime is that Jeanne d'Arc is turned into an overpowered ruler class servant with the worst character writing I've ever seen. She is made into a "child killer" and possess the body of a French teenager. Astolfo is also turned into every degenerate's favourite trap. I did find some characters to be enjoyable, some even being underrepresented. This is a textbook example of how Fate spinoffs fail to capture the immersion the originals had.
