A secular site founded by two Jews from New York who moved to San Francisco. Now a giant organization full of fruitcakes and corporate shills who push propaganda onto your kids.

Unsurprisingly, most pro-“diversity” woke organizations are hypocrites, so you’ll notice a trend of featuring their staff in black & white. This is to hide their painfully obvious lack of diversity. Perhaps that’s the same reason Cosby’s rape victims were featured in such a manner… ?

CommonSenseMedia is controlled opposition trying to replace PluggedIn.
The oldest newspaper article mentioning Focus on the Familly’s entertainment newsletter, Plugged In, was in February of 1998:

The oldest newspaper article mentioning Common Sense Media was in May of 2003 :
PluggedIn.com originally belonged to a different company until the domain was eventually bought by Focus On The Family. Before that, FotF used PluggedInOnline.com which now redirects to PluggedIn.com. In any case, it’s clear that PluggedIn was first and CommonSenseMedia came later as a degenerate competitor.

Rating System:
They censor honest reviews and push a transgender/anti-White agenda for your children. Also, considering how many corporate backers they have and their tight connections with Left-Wing politicians, one wonders about the purity of the legislation they push for…
Anyways, content that’s note-worthy for parents is broken into 9 categories:
• “Educational Value”
• “Positive Messages”
• “Positive Role Models & Representation”
• “Ease of Play”
• “Violence”
• “Sex”
• “Language”
• “Consumerism”
• “Drinking, Drugs, & Smoking”
Clearly their world-view seeps out with the “representation” and “consumerism” categories. Because diversity is a code word for anti-White. And although we encourage healthy skepticism of consumerism at ZR, it’s clear their listing of it comes from a Socialist bent not a Paleo-Conservative one. Not to mention, it seems their language screeners keep “accidentally” missing when a film takes the Lord’s name in vain.

Examples:
The best part of the site, or the only redeeming part, is reading user submitted reviews. Some of them are sock puppet accounts and some may be paid shills to keep the aggregate ratings high, but those are easy to spot. And just like RottenTomatoes, it seems that there’s a disconnect between audience reviews and critic reviews. For example, the “Common Sense Selections” are feminist & pro diversity, but the audience reviews of those films point out how crappy & unfunny they are. Unfortunately, Common Sense Media bans reviews that are honest. Like Arnoldp11’s review that is now missing. We see you, we love you, and we welcome you with arms wide open here at ZR!

Inconsistent.
Sometimes content warnings for specific categories. Sometimes a unique “CrossWalk” rating system that seems to be discontinued. It was just a stylish way to show the star rating they gave the film based on its entertainment value. And most recently an aggregate family-friendly rating next to an entertainment rating.

This is a small blogging community that is mainly focused on places to take your kids while traveling. There is however, a small section of movie reviews of kid movies. They are ostensibly an apolitical site but once you read their reviews you can see they are feminists with very lax parental restrictions. Don’t be fooled, “tolerance,” “multicultural, and “diversity” are misnomers with clever framing like saying you’re “pro-choice” instead of “pro-abortion.”
This is made clear by the fact that one of the main movie reviewers, Raven Snook, founded a mommy burlesque show and competed in a drag queen competition. They don’t go on anti-Trump tirades but their warning about Trump’s America, and them taking their kids to the Woman’s March makes their political leanings no mystery.
(Obviously click the burlesque and drag links with caution.)

About:
( Most family friendly rating sites are implicitly Conservative, but they all make a point of doing their best to maintain an air of neutrality. They often have disclaimers about this somewhere on their site. But with MovieGuide, their ratings explanation page proudly admonishes Marxists, anti-Capitalists, anti-Nationalists, feminists, environmentalists, etc. So even though their reviews are more-or-less apolitical, the organization seems to be okay with a Center Right label. )

There are no entertainment ratings or family friendly ratings given. They only repost the MPAA ratings which you can see anywhere. The site seems to be inactive and most new movies have no review whatsoever. But there are some older ones with a unique review written with family friendly content in mind. Just CTRL + F search for “specs” and see if there’s one present.

About:
This is a smaller publication similar to “MommyPoppins” in the sense that it’s mainly about activities to do with your Children outside. The website is maintained by a team of Karens who push “inclusivity” but have none on their own staff. Typical. Very doubtful the majority even have children of their own. Good, let these pro-tranny, ethno-masochistic freaks breed themselves out of existence while encouraging their kin to do the same. Just do yourself a favor and skip this website when looking for movie reviews.

About:
As with all the other family friendly sites, they steer clear of any political bent. However, these guys are “Evangelical Fundamentalist Christians” so by definition they are against the LGBT and Feminist agendas. You can’t find any reviews about Michael Moore documentaries though, so it seems like they intentionally avoid political controversies. One of their older blog posts was critical of Michael Moore and the general trend of anti-Americanism in Hollywood, however. So consider them allies but don’t expect political hot takes.

About:
These guys are probably the most neutral of all. Most of the other sites just imply objectivity, but they actually made a point to say they aren’t affiliated with any religion or political party. Just take a look at their review of “Capitalism: A Love Story” if you question their commitment to remaining bipartisan. Pretty impressive levels of restraint by the author.

To search the Top 10 of these websites all at once, just enter your film here:
1.) IMDb
2.) MovieGuide
3.) PluggedIn
4.) CrossWalk
5.) ParentPreviews
6.) Dove
7.) Kids-In-Mind
8.) ScreenIt
9.) BoxOfficeMom
10.) DownTheHobbitHole
11.) ParentalGuide
12.) MommyPoppins
13.) ParentMap
14.) RaisingChildren
15.) CommonSenseMedia
We aren’t hardcore bible thumpers or dogmatic party shills here at ZR. We welcome nuance and variety of opinion. That’s why we include many Centrists and Left-Wingers within our critic aggregation. But the best litmus test for if a website is worth its salt or not is if they are pro Transgender kids or not. If they deny basic science and are willing to sacrifice children for the sake of virtue signaling, they clearly don’t know what’s best for your kids.
So for that reason the 4 worst (supposedly) family friendly review sites are: ParentPreviews ranks high because they have a very easy to read content warning scale and a very thorough database of movies. They aren’t a religious site but they are actually bipartisan unlike the other secular review sites. An anonymous audience review on ZR highlighted the hidden gem, “Brawl In Cell Block 99:” When searching all of the above sites for a review, only IMDb and CommonSenseMedia had content for it. CommonSenseMedia claimed there were no positive messages and (intentionally?) used the lesser known poster without the giant cross tattoo on it. IMDb merely presented the facts without praise for the pro-faith themes. This shows the biggest issue with most family friendly review sites. At ZR, we realize many users might not even have young children they want to hide things from. They’re just sick & tired of Hollywood degeneracy and want to circumvent it. But as Andrew Klavan from The Daily Wire points out, some of the best Right-Wing art is horrifically violent, overtly sexual, and/or saturated with filthy language.
15.) CommonSenseMedia
14.) RaisingChildren
13.) ParentMap
12.) MommyPoppins
CommonSenseMedia has one of the largest databases but has likely done the most damage, just like its Australian (government backed) counterpart: RaisingChildren. Which is why they are at the very bottom. The smaller blogs in 12th & 13th place only do movie reviews on the side.
11.) ParentalGuide
ParentalGuide is largely inactive and hardly has any content whatsoever but at least they aren’t pushing degeneracy on your kids. An ineffective site is better than a nefarious one so it ranks higher than CommonSenseMedia and the other tranny enabler sites.
10.) DownTheHobbitHole
9.) BoxOfficeMom
8.) ScreenIt
As for DownTheHobbitHole, BoxOfficeMom, and ScreenIt, they are all fantastic sites that feel down to Earth and genuine. But due to this, they have a much smaller selection of media that’s reviewed. So they rank in the mid range.
7.) Kids-In-Mind
6.) Dove
Dove and Kids-In-Mind are basically tied. At a simple glance they seem to have proportional databases, one is just a faith based review site with more Christian movies in its collection and the other is an areligious review site with more rated R movies in its collection. Equally professional and good spirited.
5.) ParentPreviews
4.) CrossWalk
3.) PluggedIn
2.) MovieGuide
CrossWalk, PluggedIn, and MovieGuide are all in the same ballpark as well. PluggedIn ranks higher than CrossWalk because it has a larger database that includes TV, VideoGames, Music, YouTube Channels, etc. CrossWalk on the hand, mainly focuses on faith and has reviews as a secondary aspect of the site. So they briefly touch on TV and other forms of media. MovieGuide‘s range is smaller than PluggedIn‘s, but MovieGuide seems to be the most open about its Right-Wing leanings.
1.) IMDb
IMDb is number one merely because of how thorough and meticulous its database is. It’s a crowdsourced feature so there is no overt agenda or blatant censorship, and the parent warnings are just matter-of-fact. For example, “The Hangover Part II” page has warnings like: “A transgender woman (male genitals are fully visible) with female breasts (her bare breasts are seen) sits next to another man’s shoulder with her genitals close to the man’s head.”
So how can you find such gems? By using ZeitgeistReviews of course. (^_^)-b
