Hope you're happy, RWT.
Never get sick of this film. One of those films with a very high replay value. Lots of foreshadowing and interconnectedness throughout the script. For example, I just noticed the subtext in the dinner scene when they are both simultaneously saying: "Nothing!" "Everything!" If you're recently redpilled the dumb blondes portrayed as the cliché villains might rub you the wrong way. It's the same trope...
This film has so much meme mythos surrounding it that it couldn't live up to the hype, but it is still an absolute classic.
Super unique. I'll give it that.
Finally got around to watching this classic. It aged very well and there are countless iconic scenes throughout. The acting and pacing was on point. The minimalist soundtrack that utilized the archaic synthesizers of its time was kino as well. I was genuinely spooked and anxious and immersed in the plot. Which is near impossible for movies from so long ago due to their outdated special effects and...
A very hard watch, similar to Passion of the Christ. Probably won't want to watch it more than once every few years but the first time through is well worth it. Needless to say, but it's not family friendly by any means. But if you're fascinated by the dark underbelly of society, and want to be entertained by it without the cliché Tony Montana tragic story arch, or a glorification of degenerates,...
This is everything Disney should be right now but isn't. Yeah, it's "cry porn" kinda' , (meaning there are seemingly gratuitous sappy scenes for no reason other than to overload you with feels), but who cares? This was amazing from start to finish. The animation surely uses computer programs but it's done so seamlessly that it still feels on par with what you'd expect a Studio Ghibli tv series to look...
This is the best kind of anime you can hope for. "One Piece," "Dragon Ball Z," "Naruto," and the like, go on forever. There's tons of filler. If you're not typically a consoomer such a commitment is daunting. As it should be. But the anime that's only 12 or 24 episodes is the kind you want. This is heavy in dialogue though, and SUB is the only way to watch anime in general. So it may be annoying if...
This movie initially seems like a terrible romantic comedy. It goes on like that for a pretty long time. Then it takes a disgusting and creepy turn, it’s horrific
So bad it's good. The aesthetics and premise make it hard not to love, ngl. All the 90's things you'd expect:
This is a western horror film with some grotesque body modifications, tense situations, and graphic violence. I enjoyed it
This is a legendary film so there was a lot of hype going in to watch it. But there doesn't seem to be much of a story arc, message, or even a plot. I googled and of course it was a book that was crammed into a children's animated film. So that's why. There are clearly tons of great archetypes and premises but without the background knowledge of the original work they will all fall flat. Here are...
I will admit I never liked this show. Its very clearly not designed for someone like me, I will give it credit as I will give anything that attempts to show an intact black family unit. Regardless of how you feel about African American's the media really doesn't help to promote a functional culture or identity for them. Even if many of these issues such as crime and fatherless families are very common...
Overall while its political message can be both hamfisted and incoherent I would say Snowpiercer is a good show and worth watching. It is in a lot of ways evidence of how the left doesn't understand how right winged people think particularly in the post-Trump era. The things that this show criticizes seemingly on the grounds that they are right winged such as corporate greed, the destruction of the...
I won't spoil it but this documentary more or less confirms every single dissident right talking point and the best part is its played completely straight. It really does feel like pol made this as a mockumentary only its 100% real and made by Netflix of all platforms. Fully Review is Here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bAMdKQIuODw
A friend recommended I watch this because she's into UFO's lately. And it's free on YouTube so I figured: "Why not?"
Netflix on the whole has a very mixed record when it comes to its original content with its horror shows in particular being rather bad on the whole. This is certainly not one of them.
Out of all the anime's I have watched over the years this might very well be the one I have laughed out loud the most to. In particular I would recommend the dub as Goblin Slayers voice actor does a great job.
First watched this back in 2018 or so when I saw @HarmlessYardDog mention it in a tweet. Pretty badass stuff. I don't think the creators meant there to be any deep analogies in the origin story of the protagonist. And when you look up behind the scenes interviews of anime or manga staff they often just say they like the Christian aesthetic like with "Trigun" or "Evangelion." However, for a Westerner...
No agenda. But also no real plot. Just nice mindless entertainment with a dash of nostalgia. Watch this scene and if it makes you chuckle then watch the movie. If not, skip it.
