A show from my childhood, which after returning too it left me with mixed feelings. The Simpsons was never meant as a childrens show, but as a piece of social satire for adults, so I will judge it accordingly. The show, even the earlier seasons, simply are no longer enjoyable anymore. The simplistic characters, together with the outdated social commentary end up making the show mostly irrelevant. An...
Oh boy, havent seen this film in ooohhh well over 15 years, I remember this from my childhood and I remember it was pretty PC, now revisiting it I am genuinely impressed, this is probaly one of the most anti-white, cultural-marxist films from the period, the films themselves (yes they produced a whole series) actually work as comedic films, which makes them all the more dangerous. The basic premise...
Watched this with my sweetheart, while the both of us where spending our day in bed recovering from the New Years celebration, since I like The Addams Family and she likes Tim Burton, this should have been a good show for the both of us and it kinda was, though I have plenty to say that isn't woke related. My main gripe about this show is that it just doesn't adhere to the source material or interprets...
Watched this film after I saw someone mention it on 4chan, its a fairly mediocre example of a horror film that seems to combine some dramatic character development, with boring and bland horror scenes. It's neither high on gore, nor is it genuinely creepy. The film has fairly low diversity for a modern production, but we still get the brilliant female scientist, the coloured assistant, the assh**e...
I feel like I need to give me my 2 cents on this film, I will hit right home, Starship Troopers is many things, it is, for all intents and purposes not a "satire" or for that matter a "satire on fascism", I will break down why I think so. First, a satire need to be so, clearly and unequivocally, it's needs to be seen as a satire by both the people you are trying to satirize, as well as the in-crowd,...
I have noticed, on and off, that a lot of people i've met have seen and liked this film and its not very difficult to understand why, even though this certainly meant to be a (clever) feminist and progressive film, the girls adorable, goofy and evil personalities end up making the girls appear cutsy. The story, which isnt there is that the girls decide that because the world is depraved, so will they...
Game of Thrones no doubt is one of the great pieces of epic tv production, a mostly White cast, in a low-fantasy world, closer to a medieval costume drama or an ancient Roman cloack-and-dagger then some ridiculous high fantasy, lots of real politics, manipulation, war, nudity, cruelty, etc its understandable why most people would like this show. Now what interests me are the last 2 seasons which most...
Weird show to pick-up and give a negative review, I know but read on, on the surface SG-1 is just a generic pulp show from the 90's, something that appeals to boys but not to adults, boring stories, annoying cast of black stoic dude, nerdy guy, funny haha chad and lesbian. Its basic story is that aliens build the pyramids, those aliens are worms that inhabit the human body and they are evil. Where...
A blast from the past, back long ago, in a strange era called the 90's when I was growing up I saw this film and together with school edutainment lessons and playing videogames, I wanted a heckin computer, with heckin internet, so I could play Descent and Quake with my homies, now looking back its actually laughable how bad this film was. Hackers, which has nothing to do with how real leet haxxors...
Another film we all watched in our youth and has clearly a very strong woke message, the humour isnt always bad, its basically a bunch of silly sketches, a few work, most dont, lots of dry humour, some sex jokes, a few religious ones, I was almost tempted to give this 3 stars, except two not so funny jokes. One I find really distasteful is the pilot asking little jimmy "do you like gladiator movies"...
For this I reviewed the original French version and not the terrible English dub and dito terrible music score. The strenght of this animation, is not really the story, which is a fairly generic good versus evil tale, but the animation is glorious, colourful and livelike, with the world itself, like most French "fantastical" animations, being imaginery and original. The film starts out in a idylic...
After seeing the internet aglow with what a travesty this series was going to be, I decided to watch it, now that my working hours are shorter, before I start about the multiculturalism, first a short review about the first two episodes. Overal its a decent series, nothing special, it seems fairly grounded with some decent character development, the fantastical cities look nice, but the magic isnt...
A film I wanted to check out a while, primarily because its a bizarre and over the top representation of the kind of loony intellectuals that still trouble our society, La Chinoise is a communist film, both an honest attempt at depicting the weird Anarchist-Maoist ideology common in this period and a satire of typical intellectual types, who only talk and discuss, but dont build. Basically the film...
A very mixed bag documentary, supposedly it brings together several scientists from very different fields, though these fields are primarily the cutting edge of human consciousness, miscroscopic life and deep space research, yes a lot of excitement about space and half the scientists are female, which is just silly feminist promotion, equally, not every scientist is equally articulate. So when you...
I watched this film at my nephews house party, last sunday, being mostly surrounded by teenagers, chips, some beer (but not too much) and two bossy aunts, it wasnt the highlight of my weekend, I was expecting something much worse, but overal its an fairly enjoyable action-romance film, about an npc in a video-game who becomes self-aware. What was surprising about the film is, though it has this light...
This documentary of the BBC, actually has a lot of good highlights, it doesn't just talk about historical figures, but goes into musical theory, trying to explain how cadences work for example, it comparison between classical and modern music is not always appreciated but important for the audience itself. Up until the late 19th century its a decent documentary.
But of course, if this documentary...
This one was recommended to me by my girlfriends nephew and in all honesty, not a big fan of all those superhero animation, but this mostly passes the mark. Most notably, even though the voice actors are diverse, the main characters certainly are not. Basically, the story revolves around three strong White males and one White female, there are no non-White main characters, diversity is kept to background...
I found the show incredibly enjoyable and funny and interesting. Each episode of the series has a lot of intrigue and even in the first episode it is over the top and funny. It doesn't push a lot of annoying politics down your throat trying to make you feel one way or another about things. It does include a homosexual marriage which sucks and it also includes a little but of girl boss and man emasculation....
A minor favourite of mine, I watched most of the early seasons many, many years ago on TV, yes, that long ago, not sure how old I was, before I was 18? Now I am only going to review the early seasons, because I am not that far into the show and apparently this series gets worse after season six. NYPD Blue was at the time it was produced still innovative, but even today it still holds it's own in the...
Serves me right for checking out a modern series, someone recommended here, it's garbage plain and simple. Yeah where to start, the main antagonist is some edgelord, who went to Africa and became a cannibal, or something, but he is really a decent fellow, or something, cringe and boring as hell, the character has no depth, neither does anyone else in this series. Whats the show about, well what could...
